1. Clara Ward, gospel artist who achieved great success, both artistic and commercial, in the 1940s and 1950s as leader of The Famous Ward Singers.
2. Eddie King, Blues Artist, was part of the Chicago south and west side sound in the late 1950’s and 1960’s, growing up and playing with friends Luther Allison, Eddie C. Campbell, Magic Sam, Junior Wells and Freddie King.
3. Julian Francis, architect, designed Philadelphia’s Museum of Art and the Free Library, as well as major buildings on the Duke University campus. The legacy of architect Julian Francis Abele was brought into focus in the mid-1980s when in the midst of a student protest at Duke University his great grandniece reminded the campus community that her long unsung ancestor was responsible for the eleven original architectural drawings for the campus.
