1. Dewey “Pigmeat” Markham, Entertainer, though best known as a comedian, Markham was also a singer, dancer, and actor. His nickname came from a stage routine, in which he declared himself to be “Sweet Poppa Pigmeat.” He was sometimes credited in films as David “Pigmeat” Markham.
2. Clarence (Gatemouth) Brown, Vocalist and Guitarist, He is best known for his work as a blues musician, but embraced other styles of music, having “spent his career fighting purism by synthesizing old blues, country, jazz, Cajun music and R&B styles”, He was an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, who played an array of musical instruments such as guitar, fiddle, mandolin, viola as well as harmonica and drums. He won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 1982 for his album, Alright Again!
3. Robert Hooks, actor of film, television and stage. With a career as a producer and political activist to his credit, he is most recognizable to the public for his over 100 roles in film and television. He is the father of actor/director/ producer Kevin Hooks.
Gwendolynne Sophia Moore, is the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 4th congressional district, serving since 2005. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She is the first woman to represent the district. She is also the second woman and the first African-American elected to Congress from Wisconsin.
