Lela Rochan

1. Lela Rochan, Actress (Waiting to Exhale).  In 1996, Lela was chosen by People (USA) magazine as one of the “50 most beautiful people in the world”. while in college, Rochon was one of the “Spudettes” featured in over 20 spots for the Spuds Mckenzie Budweiser/Bud Light TV commercials. She also appeared in the 1985 TV film, A Bunny’s Tale (starring Kirstie Alley and Delta Burke) based on Gloria Steinem’s experiences as a Playboy Bunny; and appeared as the love interest of Gerald Levert in an early music video for the group Levert, and on Luther Vandross’s “It’s Over Now” video. She also appeared in the music video for Lionel Richie’s single “All Night Long (All Night)”. Rochon starred for one season on The Wayans Bros. television series in 1995 and she has had small roles in several films including Any Given Sunday and First Daughter. After a memorable walk-on part (as Christie, the sexy girl with the ugly feet) in the successful Eddie Murphy/Halle Berry romantic comedy Boomerang, Rochon became a feature actress in films like Waiting to Exhale and Why Do Fools Fall in Love.
Kimberly Elise

2. Kimberly Elise, film and television actress. She is best known for her role in the films Set It OffJohn Q, and Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Elise is a four-time NAACP Image Award winner.  Elise’s first movie was Set It Off (1996), in which she played one of four women who resort to robbing a bank for money. Her big break came in 1997 when she was cast in the Family Channel original television movie The Ditchdigger’s Daughters, based on the Pulitzer-prize nominated and critically acclaimed 1995 memoir The Ditchdigger’s Daughters: A Black Family’s Astonishing Success Story, written by Yvonne S. Thornton and Jo Coudert. She received critical acclaim for her role in this film, and in 1997 she was recognized as Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Miniseries at the 19th annual CableACE Awards. A relative unknown at the time, she conveyed her anonymity upon receiving the award by saying “Who is Kimberly Elise?”. Her performance helped her land a role the next year in Beloved alongside Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover. She is often compared to a young Cicely Tyson whom she resembles.

Marquis Grissom

3. Marquis Grissom, former Major League Baseball player. He excelled in baseball at Lakeshore High School, under the tutelage of baseball coach Mike Juenger. He currently resides in College Park, Georgia. In 2009, Grissom served as the first base coach for the Washington Nationals.


4. Reginald “Reggie” Noble,  better known by his stage name Redman, is an American rapper, record producer and actor. He came to fame in the early 1990s as an artist on the Def Jam label. He is also well known for his collaborations with Method Man, including their starring roles in films and sitcoms. He was also a member of the Def Squad in the early 1990s. Redman is one-half of the rap duo Method Man & Redman.

Dee Dee Davis

5. Dee Dee Davis, Actress. She is best known for her role as Bryanna “Baby Girl” Thomkins on The Bernie Mac Show. She also guest starred in Strong Medicine and The Game. Her older sister is Aree Davis
