Nella Larsen

1. Nella Larsen,  novelist of the Harlem Renaissance, She wrote two important novels, “Quicksand” and “Passing.” She worked at NYC Library’s Harlem Branch from 1921-1926.

Charlie Robinson

2. Charlie Robinson, Actor, credits includes appearances in The White Shadow, Flamingo Road, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Touched by an Angel and Antwone Fisher. Robinson was cast in the role of Newdell on the NBC comedy Buffalo Bill, Night Court, Home Improvement,  The Bernie Mac Show, My Wife and Kids, Soul Food and Charmed.

Al Green

3. Albert Green, better known as Al Green, is a gospel and soul music singer. He reached the peak of his popularity in the 1970s, with hit singles such as “You Oughta Be With Me,” “I’m Still In Love With You,” “Love and Happiness”, and “Let’s Stay Together”. In 2005, Rolling Stone named him #65 in their list of the ‘100 Greatest Artists of All Time’.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Green in 1995, referring to him as “one of the most gifted purveyors of soul music.” Green has sold more than 20 million records.

Peabo Bryson

4.Peabo Bryson (born Robert Peapo Bryson given name changed to Peabo c. 1965)  R&B and soulsinger-songwriter, born in Greenville, South Carolina. He is well known for singing soft-rock ballads, (often as a duo with female singers) and his contribution to several Disney animated feature soundtracks.
