1. In 1882,  E. Little received Patent for Bridle-bit

2. In 1893,  J. R. Watts Received Patent for Bracket for miners lamp

3. In 1942,  1st cadets graduated from flying school at Tuskegee.

4. In 1965,  Thousands of marchers, led by Martin Luther King Jr. completed first leg of five-day Selma-to-Montgomery march. Marchers were protected by federalized Alabama National Guardsmen and U.S. Army troops. Selma-to-Montgomery march ended with rally of some fifty thousands at Alabama capitol. One of the marchers, a white civil rights worker named Viola Liuzzo, was shot to death on U.S. Highway after the rally by white terrorists. Three Klansmen were convicted of violating her civil rights and sentenced to ten years in prison.

5. In 1985,  “We Are the World” single is released to benefit African famine.

6. In 1987,  Mike Tyson beats Bone Crusher Smith to win the WBA heavyweight.
