It is said “love thy neighbor as you love yourself”, which begs the question…How can you love your neighbor if you don’t love yourself. You must love yourself. Think about who you are and what you are. Look at yourself in the mirror, an ask yourself “do I really love that person that I see in the mirror”. Your answer will determine if you should even consider loving someone else.
- Should you become the person that you could love?
- Should you just love the person that you are?
- Should you rely on someone else to make you the person you could love?
Or, or did I miss the meaning altogether?
If I did, then fail-safe mode is appropriate “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
